Q: Can't view iCloud Photo Library photos on other devices

I've enable iCloud Photo Library on both my iPhone and iPad. I did this about two weeks ago, which to me should be enough time for all my content to sync (about 1,300 photos on iPad, 2,000 on iPhone), and I am almost always on WiFi.

All this seemed to accomplish was wiping out my PhotoStream. Now I can no longer access photos that I took on my iPhone while I'm using my iPad, and vice versa. That's pretty important to me. What do I need to do to view those photos?

Time-wise, two weeks is certainly more than enough for the sync with a small library like yours. You can check what's in the Photos iCloud Library on your computer web browser by signing in at iCloud.com.

Are both devices using the same Apple ID, iCloud account?

Three months later... this problem is ongoing. I can see my iPad photos in iCloud, but my iPhone photos are still elusive. It's the same Apple ID. Under my iCloud settings on the phone, I see "Uploading 1,963" photos permanently... that number never goes down. I've charged the battery and been on WiFi. What could be blocking it?

Try Settings/iCloud and slide off photos syncing. Wait a few minutes and then resync.
