Q: iTunes 12.3.0.44 does not recognize connected iPad or iPhone

After upgrading to latest version of iTunes (12.3.0.44) 64bit, it no longer recognizes the iPhone or the iPad, when I connect them to the PC. I use Windows 10 on a Surface Pro 3, and have not had this problem in the previous version of iTunes.

Does anyone see the same problem, or has anyone a good suggestion on how to solve the problem?

Same problem for me.  But, have a interesting input I think.  Running Windows 10, Latest version of Itunes.  I had set my sync for both iPAD and iPhone for WiFi.  I deselected WiFi sync for the iPhone and now it won't sync or be recognized in iTunes, but my iPad still shows up and sync via WiFi instead of the cable connection.  Prior to deselecting WiFi sync I always saw the iPhone.

I'm also wondering whether this latest version of iTunes also is causing all the display errors of unsupported device?

I am pretty sure it's not only a Windows 10 problem. Before upgrading to iTunes 12.3.0.44, the previous iTunes could easily recognize my iPhone and iPad, but yes, I sometimes had to "approve" the phone, before I could see for instance the phone's pictures on the PC, but iTunes would always recognize the phone and turn on the little phone icon for synchronizing etc. That does not happen anymore after upgrading.

Last time a similar thing happened was around February 1'st 2015, when a new release of iTunes no longer allowed synchronizing with Outlook. The local Apple support team (where I requested a support call), did not know about the problem and had no internal information from Apple. They were very helpful, but could of course not do anything. Aften nearly 14 days a new release of iTunes was available, and the problem was now solved - so my guess is, from people start making Apple aware of the problem until they have a solution ready is 2-3-weeks.

I also have the same problem. Everything was fine until latest iTunes. Windows 10 pc sees connected device but iTunes never does. Really frustrating.

Having the same problem with both my phone and my iPad. My iPhone 6 is on iOS 9 and my iPad (4th Gen) is on the previous iOS, both are recognized by my computer running Windows 10 as what they are, iPhone and iPad, but iTunes doesn't recognize either.

Called tech support and she told me to uninstall iTunes and reinstal it, which didn't fix the situation. Hopefully someone at HQ will catch wind of this and fix the situation. I think the problem is with iTunes and not the iOS.

Yeah it's wrong on mine too, I AM an administrator and there is Bitdefender Firewall running.  Pretty poor form from Apple, when I get the new iPhone 6S plus on Friday how can I restore a backup from the computer if iTunes won't see the USB connection to ANY iOS device???
