Q: How do you change a birthday for a child in iCloud

I created iCloud accounts for my children before Apple allowed children under age 12 to do so. I just used my birthday instead of theirs. Now that Apple has rolled out family sharing for iCloud in iOS 8 I need to change their birthdays back to the correct ones. Until then I can't manage their accounts correctly as children. When I go in to change the birthday, it tells me I can't change it to that recent of a birthday.

I have my own domain that we use for email and I used those as their iCloud accounts, so I can't really set up new iCloud accounts for them.

Am I missing something or is there any solution for this?

Thanks in advance.

Except for this, from that page: "Be sure to enter your correct birthdate. After you change it to any age below 13, you can't edit it."

This, imo, is nuts. I understand that they don't want underage kids changing their birthdates, but the parent who created the account?

I totally agree with all of you.

How come, that ME as the CREATOR of my 8 year old daughter´s Apple-ID can NOT change the birthdate to the correct birthdate?!

I entered  2009 instead of 2007 by mistake and now it is IMPOSSIBLE to change it?!

Come on Apple, it is 2015 now and I am the "owner" of this Apple-ID!

Can you, Apple, please tell me the ACTUAL reason why this is not possible?

I finally managed to change it.

    1) On EVERY device that is currently using the Apple ID of which you want to change the birth date:
Go to Settings, iCloud and log off. Make sure you don't forget any device that is using that Apple ID otherwise it's not going to work.

    2) Go to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click on Manage your Apple ID. Log in with the Apple ID which you want to change the birth date from.

    3) Turn off Two Step Verification if you've previously activated it and don't forget to write down the answers to the security questions.

    4) Change the birth date and follow the instructions.

If you managed to change the birth date don't forget to switch on Two Step Verification if you deactivated it in step 3.

    Hope this works for everyone!

I don't have the accounts active on anything yet and I can't change the birthday? How can this be changed? I don't understand why this can't be changed if i am the owner/creator of the accounts. Someone please help.
