Q: iOS 9 note upgrade

My wife and I each have a iPhone 6 and an iPad 2. We've installed ios9, and everything's fine, but we're afraid to choose "upgrade" on the iPhone6 "Notes," because we still need them to sync with the older iPads "Notes", and we don't want to lose any data. Would our iPads still be able to read and edit "upgraded" Notes made on the iPhone6, or should we just stay clear of the upgrade?

DON'T. It will mess up your notes and cause problems. I wish I had have been warned.
