Q: How does Apple Watch count steps? By swinging my arm or some other way?

I am wondering how the Apple Watch counts steps? I tried not swinging my arm and it did not Count steps. But when I swing my arm, it works. I gue I'll just swing my arm all the time. If you have any feedback about this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
