    Hi

watchOS 2 and iOS 9 are due for release today (Wednesday 16 September), both as free updates.

Apple has not announced at what time the updates will be made available. However, previous iOS updates have been available from around 10am PST / 1pm EST.

You will likely need to update your iPhone to iOS 9 (via iTunes or via Settings > General > Software Update) before updating Apple Watch (via the Apple Watch app on your iPhone: My Watch > General > Software Update).

PS: iOS 8.4 was released two hours earlier than that.

You will need to update to iOS 9 first. And September 16th, 2015 still has 20:32:00 to go as of the time you posted your message.

Apple has since announced a delay in the release of watchOS 2.

A press statement explains: "We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly" due to having "discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected".

    Hi

    watchOS 2 is available now:

    - Ensure that your Apple Watch has at least a 50 percent charge.

    - Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.

    - Keep your iPhone next to your Apple Watch to make sure they're in range.

    - Connect your Apple Watch to power, and keep it on the charger until the update is complete.

To download and install the update: on your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app and tap My Watch > General > Software Update - follow the instructions.

Do iPhone iOS9 beta testers need to remove their beta profile in order to get the Watch OS update? I am a beta tester and the Watch app says I'm up to date.  Same thing happened when Apple Music came out.

PProblem solver - Apple has released OS2 today. Just getting the OS updated.

(Don't forget to do a Restart on the iPhone first.)
