Thanks for the response but it's slightly misleading as it doesn't fix the issue I originally had. Your way is describing how it works when it's working correctly.

Aug 25, 2015 7:19 AM in response to doug from stratford upon avonby Bernie300374,Same issue here, and it seems quite rare as no one I spoke to at Apple has heard of it. Really annoying, I'm probably going to get the new iPhone when it comes out, will start from scratch then. If the issue is with the iPhone, I'm hoping that when I pair the Apple Watch again, I can install it from a back up as I'll lose all the Workout/Activity data. Does anyone know if this will be possible??

Prior to switching over to your new iPhone, if you back up your old iPhone to iTunes on your computer, ensure that you choose to "Encrypt iPhone backup". This will include Health data (and also saved passwords, Wi-Fi settings and website history). If you use iTunes without this option selected, Health data will be lost. iCloud backups are encrypted automatically.

Aug 25, 2015 7:35 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Bernie300374,I currently have that option ticked for that very reason, but as I'll be installing the phone as 'New', I won't get my Health Data back. So will the health data come back when I pair my watch again and restore that from a back-up??

Aug 25, 2015 7:55 AM in response to Bernie300374by Jonathan UK,To restore your Apple Watch from a backup, that backup needs to exist on the iPhone.
If you do not restore your new iPhone from your old iPhone backup, there will be no Apple Watch backup from which to restore your watch.

Aug 25, 2015 8:27 AM in response to Jonathan UKby Bernie300374,Had a horrible feeling that would be the case. After in excess of 50 hours spent fixing my iTunes library because of Apple Music, to finally get it back in one piece to then discover I've got a load of Unknown Title playlists, the numbers of which are slowly increasing and the only fix so far is for a complete restore of your iPhone, which will then take another few hours to get it back to how I have it now, and have to lose all your Health Data as a consequence, suffice to say I hate Apple right now Here's hoping someone finds a fix, coz I doubt Apple will, I've submitted feedback, but I guess their inbox is fairly full right now, not surprisingly

Sep 4, 2015 5:33 AM in response to doug from stratford upon avonby Will H.,Any update on this? My Apple Watch is showing a stupid amount of "Unknown Title" playlists. As described by others, these disappear if I select the Apple Watch as source, but reappear when I revert to iPhone as source. The idea of a "fix" being to completely restore the devices from scratch is ridiculous. I've tried to search possible empty playlists everywhere on my machine and hidden somehow in iTunes, but can't find anything. I'd love to know how to fix this...

Apple WatchI spent hours on the phone to technical and went through masses of processes. I'm sorry to say that the thing that fixed it was restoring the phone as a new device from scratch. A real pain but worth it in the end and the issue hasn't returned....

Sep 4, 2015 5:55 AM in response to doug from stratford upon avonby Will H.,Thanks for the update. Using the third party app "iBackupbot", I searched for "playlist" on my phone, and it turned up a shitload of "onthego" playlists (remember these from years ago?). The number of these playlists -- which don't appear anywhere visible in iTunes/iPhone -- roughly matches the number of Unknown Title playlists. I'm going to back up my phone, then try deleting these playlists using the third party app.... I'll report back.

Sep 4, 2015 6:11 AM in response to Will H.by Bernie300374,Before I go through the process of restoring the iPhone from scratch, I'm gonna wait until iOS 9 comes out, you never know, it could be fixed with that...not holding my breath though! I've wasted enough of my time trying to sort Apple's screw ups, be nice if they could fix something for me for a change!!

Sep 22, 2015 3:06 AM in response to JDank40by Skynet87,Hello, I have got the exact same problem.....is there any other solution than restore the iPhone?
-
Sep 22, 2015 3:31 AM in response to JDank40by Will H.,Unfortunately no luck after more and more hours of trying and updating to watchOS2. Since I posted, I turned off Apple Music on all my devices except my MacBook. I now sync my iPhone music with the MacBook. After you reminded me about the problem, I tried deleting all of the music off my iPhone via itunes. Music remained.... there were some tracks that kept appearing in the Music section under "On My Device". However, there were even more songs than that showing my iPhone. I'm now trying a couple of other steps, but I'm not optimistic - my Apple Watch is now showing nothing but Unknown Title playlists. I'll report back if anything works.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that this is due to some combination of Apple Music, and past purchases not correctly deleting from some cloud settings that sync with the phone, but remain invisible to the user (only to be seen on the watch). -
Sep 22, 2015 3:57 AM in response to Will H.by Bernie300374,No difference with OS2 for me either I actually have an extra Unknown Title playlist now, up to 12 in total. Hopefully someone will find a fix other than to restore your phone
