Sep 22, 2015 7:05 AM in response to sheryltooby Newn,No, it doesn't. If it did it would mean that every time you had a new computer you would have to reinstall all of your music on it. Or every time oyu did an iTunes update you would lose your music.
Your music is saved in your music library. So, if you want to follow Joindalr69's advice go ahead - it is safe.
But, you don't need to.
Try this - it worked for me: Go into Apple Support and follow the steps under "If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed" in iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows.

Sep 22, 2015 11:51 AM in response to PHDKby renrutnagrom,Okay, the cited procedure (Re: iTunes 12.3.0.44 does not recognize connected iPad or iPhone) worked. Thanks. However, Apple is not out of the doghouse! As a user of their software and products, I believe I should not have to resort to fixing problems that should not have been present to begin with. Someone did not do a proper follow-through on this release of iTunes. Not good!

Sep 22, 2015 5:01 PM in response to PHDKby billhep1,★HelpfulI went to this link,
http://www.technipages.com/itunes-fix-iphone-or-ipod-not-detected-in-windows
followed the directions and iTunes recognized my phone. Its a much easier process than the fix on the Apple support page. Too bad Apple support is not aware of this fix.

Sep 22, 2015 5:38 PM in response to bipi.gokuby billhep1,I used this link:
http://www.technipages.com/itunes-fix-iphone-or-ipod-not-detected-in-windows
I followed the direction and it worked. It's much easier than using the fix "If the Apple Mobile Device USB is not listed" But you have to do it for each device, iPhone, iPod and iPad. Too bad that Apple support is not aware of this.

Sep 23, 2015 9:01 AM in response to PHDKby otacon72,Make sure iTunes is closed but your iPhone is plugged in. Go into Device Manager, Uninstall the iPhone under Portable Devices. Unplug the iPhone, restart computer, plug in iPhone, open iTunes.... re-trust the device...have a nice day.
Same process should work with your iPad. iTunes was recognizing my iPad Air 2 though.

Sep 23, 2015 3:16 PM in response to PHDKby Emanuelco,I have the same problem. Since I upgraded to iTunes 12.3 I cannot sync all my apple devices - including iPhone 6 Plus with IOS 9, iPhone 5 with IOS 8.3, iPad and iPod Touch. I use MS Windows 10 . Windows recognize all these devices. Sent feedback to Apple about this problem.
Hope Apple will solve this major problem as soon as possible !!!
