NOTE: IOS 9 is NOT "fine to download". It is a crock. Just read the hundreds of posts of people having problems, including myself (iPad 3). What "device" do you have? Be specific, "device" tells people nothing.

iPad Air, iPhone 6. No problems.

"Hundreds of posts" doesn't necessarily correlate to hundreds of people. And, even if it did, that's a minuscule percentage of iOS users. If you're the one having a problem, the fact that you're in that minuscule percentage doesn't help. And, unfortunately, it makes it that much harder to determine the problem. Actual bugs in iOS would affect large numbers of people. When a small number of people report problems, it's more likely that there are a variety of issues, rather than a single one and that the issues are related to something particular to those users.

Bear047 this isn't a place where you nag Apple. If you have any questions on how to fix these problems please ask them.

Who are you to tell me whether I can nag Apple or not?" Another Apple fan boy blinded by Apple spin? I will nag them until they fix this problem. It caused me to use many hours of my time and loss of data. No, I don't have a question on how to fix this problem, I found a fix, proved it worked on my device and then posted a link to the fix in this forum as many people were looking for a fix. All I got was a "Post Removed By Host" message as they (Apple) are obviously embarrassed by this debacle.

We are not talking about iOS users, we are talking about the many people who are having problems with iOS 9. Not all these people post to this forum, there are many more. I don't understand "the fact that you're in that minuscule percentage doesn't help". How does it not help? How does it make it "much harder" to determine the problem. You are obviously an Apple apologist and your comments certainly don't help the many people looking for a solution.

Can you use Google? Try this for example:

Apple Admits To Big iOS 9 Problem

I also have a iPad 3 and a iPad Air 2. There are no problems.

You can nag Apple all you want, but Apple won't hear you. Apple does not read this forum. If a message was removed it was because you violated the terms of use or a link you posted was dangerous. The fact that this thread exists and continues proves you wrong that it was removed because Apple was embarrassed. FWIW, iOS 9 works perfectly on my 2 iPhones and 2 iPads.

Apple Admits To Big iOS 9 Problem

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2015/09/22/apple-ios-9-problem/

Aren't the people who are having the problem iOS users?

The title of that article is a lovely bit of click bait. And it doesn't even line up with the article itself:

For the vast majority of users iOS 9 has been a great success.

It goes on to mention that a small number of users are having a problem. Though the article says that Apple admits to a big problem for which they have no solution, there are no quotes in the article where Apple "admits" anything, in fact, no quotes at all. And, the article goes on to give Apple's advice (that it supposedly didn't have) for resolving the issue. Forbes is far from an unbiased source on information about Apple. They frequently predict its imminent failure.

The reason it's harder to determine the cause of the problem when very few people have it is that there is less data to work with. I'm not an apologist for anything. I am however, a voceiferus critic of bad math, hyperbole and histrionics. Screeching that the problem is a "bug", that Apple is whatever kind of evil or incompetent people tend to pick in these situations is what is incredibly unhelpful

I'm totally frustrated  I updated my iPad2 to IOS9.1, big fix -- big joke

Now I cannot access or power off -- the icons appear, unfortunately there's no swiping to do anything.

I've tried backing it up to iTunes -- no help, which worked perfectly, but then says I have to power off before restoring -- which I haven't been able to do, which is why I have a problem!

I'm starting with a full charge -- I guess I'll have to wait for it to power off after not being used forever -- or else it has just become a very expensive paperweight.

I've tried holding the power button, the power button and screenshot  -- screaming and yelling also doesn't seem to help.

    Any thoughts by anyone?

    Any help would be appreciated.

HOLD the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appears. This will take from 10-40 seconds of holding.

I too have experienced total freeze of device and no response to screen touch or buttons on both an ipad 3 and an iPhone 5s.

On my iPhone 5s after 10 minutes I resorted to a soft reboot ( holding power button and home button simultaneously for a few seconds) this was a pain as I was taking photos at the time and missed a few good shots!

ON the iPad , I've found that it unfreezes after a minute or two by itself, but the delay still irritates me.

Come on Apple, I'm forever defending Apple against Android and Windows but finding that harder to do with these bugs you keep introducing!

i have a problem on my iPhone 5 where when the screen turns off like it should and I press the power button to bring the screen back up, the slider on the bottom of the screen goes wonky and I have to swipe it three times in order to get to the passcode screen. When I am at the passcode screen, the touch screen doesnt respond to my touches. But if I hit the power button and turn the screen off and on again the touch screen somehow resets itself and works fine. This is a strange problem.
