Q: Calendar events not syncing after upgrade to watch 2.0

Upgraded my Apple Watch to v2.0 yesterday and immediately noted that the calendar complication was not functioning as expected. In fact, after using the complication to reach the calendar app, the only calendar with data was the birthday calendar. None of my work (MS Exchange) or personal (iCloud) calendars are available. Interestingly, calendar invites and notifications still come through the watch post upgrade, just not the events themselves.

I have tried a reset of the contact/calendar data, erase and restore from backup, erase and setup as a new watch, erase, unpair and restore from a previous (watch os 1.0) version. All to no avail.

Logging the issue in the hopes that someone else has seen this and has a workaround. Apple support recommended that I go into the Retail store, but I have doubts that this would accomplish much of anything.

I spent 2.5 hours on chat with support today working on this issue. I ran out of battery and was unable to complete a reset of the watch because I didn't have the charging cable. Just completed the reset and it is still not working.

Question for you — do you have MDM on your phone?

Another one on the list, and my calendar was working correctly prior to the OS 2.0 update - syncing with gmail and IBM verse.

Following the watch upgrade, no calendar entries at all.

I have done everything described - powered down both phone and watch; unpaired and repaired; and completely resetting the watch to factory.

Looking forward to update 2.1 in the next day or so I hope !!!

Exactly the same here. I opened a separate thread at the same time as this one opened with my own experiences.

I am receiving calendar alerts on my Watch but nothing in the calendar itself (complications or App).

I have this same issue. My exchange calendar items won't appear on my watch but if I enter a calendar item in a personal calendar on my iPhone it will show up I've done everything, reset and re-sync and repaired, nothing seems to work

Here the same issue. Calendar events are my key and main used function on the watch.

Nothing has worked so far although alternative calendar are showing the events but not (yet)

as a complication. Hopefully Apple will update this very soon!!

    Same issue here!

I had a scheduled call with an Apple rep this morning to talk about my issues with the watch tracking my running distance so I brought the calendar issue up too.

He seemed surprised and we did the typical reset and re-pairing.  Still not working.   He said they are not hearing of this issue and I said that there are several posts on Apples support community so it must be a pretty big issue for many people.  He's escalating the issue and calling back.

Ugh, this watch is driving me crazy.

Me too, after the update to 2.0 completely lost all Calendar entries.....Exchange for work and iCloud for home.   Reset the Phone and Watch to no avail.....like everyone else here.

I also can't turn off my watch, after pressing the side button the "power off" appears on my watch, but nothing happens when I press it.  Also my power is draining quickly....last night at 8pm it was at 10%.  Already today it's at 54%.

In addition to optionally contacting Apple Support, the issue can be advised to Apple here:

I'Ve logged with Apple and suggest others do too.

Amusingly, the submission form does not allow me to select Watch OS2 as the version so i have had to select 1.01 from the drop-down list.

I'm not convinced Apple had completed their pre-launch checklist for this one.

thanks for the replies - helps to know others are having the same issue. Having read a couple of other threads on the topic, I feel that the interaction of MDM and watch os 2 may be the issue.

Yes - I do have MDM on my phone. I am convinced it is related.
