Notes on iPhone and iPad with iOS 9.0.1 is not syncing with iMac OS X 10.9.5. Are they not compatible?

Angela,

Have you turned on iCloud on both devices and enables Notes on both. If you don't know how please click http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

Yes, iCloud is ON on all devices: iMac, iPhone, & iPad.
