Q: iCloud for Windows will not sign out, Windows 10, Office 2016

I installed Office 2016 yesterday and found iCloud was no longer connected to Outlook.

- Trying to select Mail w/Outlook or trying to sign out of iCloud both generate the error "Outlook configuration problem.  Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile.  Check your Outlook settings and try again.".

- Trying to uninstall or repair iCloud for Windows both produce the error " Sign out of iCloud before uninstalling the iCloud for Windows.".

- Selecting to Uninstall Anyway produces an error "The installer has encountered an unexpected error....error code is 2343".

- Trying to select my iCloud calendars results in the error "The set of folders cannot be opened....MAPI was unable to load the information service C:\...............\APLZOD64.dll".

Downloaded a new iCloud for Windows package with same results, can't install it even as admin.  Outlook does have a default profile.  Removing the iCloud email account or setting it as the default in Outlook doesn't change things.  Everything worked fine before the Office install, has been working for years.

This install of Office 2016 is 32bit, not 64bit, however my previous Office 2013 was 64bit.  I suspect that is the root of the problem and would resolve itself if I could just uninstall and reinstall iCloud for Windows.  Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, and posted separately.

Anyway I received a reply / solution which was to completely un-install icloud using 'IOBit Uninstaller'. (search for it on the web - just use the free version). That got rid of the 2343 error / fix cycle. I also ran CCleaner to then clean the registary. That got rid of icloud completely.

I then re-downloaded and re- installed the 'latest' version of iCoud for windows fro the apple site. BUT I now see that once fired up, the MAIL, Contacts, Calenders option is 'greyed out' AND there is a notice in that window stating something like 'for contacts and calanders log-into iCloud web' plus it gives a link to the relevent page.

So Apple must be aware of the problem and have applied a hot-fix for now. Its not ideal as i want to intergrate my icloud contacts and calenders into Outlook 2016 as i had previously with Outlook 2013. I hope Apple are working on a proper solution and not just leaving it as is.

Anyway hope this is some help to you.

Thank you very much, was able to get things to the state you say using your suggestions, and the iCloud Outlook Calendar integration does not work which is very disappointing.  There are now several other defect reports for the same issue and hopefully will get a prompt resolution -
