Q: What the heck just happened to my iTunes? Playlists gone, etc.

Average day yesterday, opened and closed iTunes a few times, but by evening, I noticed it was not recognizing any of the TV shows I have on my computer, all of which I purchased in iTunes.
This morning, I notice that every friggin' playlist is GONE, EVERYTHING has been reset and it acts as if I need to re-downloaded!  Also all of the songs now show a cloud to download (little icon in one of the columns after the song). That wasn't there yesterday at all.
I know that there was an update available (12.2. 3) but had not had a chance to update it yet, so I'm working with 12.2.2.25

I DID NOT update or anything.  Everything is on manual update due to satellite constraints.

SO what happened yesterday????

Could this have something to do with the iTunes Connect update that came out yesterday, even though I didn't update from the App Store?

I'm freaking out just a little-I had probably a hundred playlists.

Thanks

Since nobody else is posting with this issue I am thinking it isn't a system wide problem, just something to do with your computer.  Usually if a problem is associated with an update, even if only a fraction of a percent of users, it will result in a flurry of outrage posts here.

Are your media files still there or are they gone?

    LOL, yes, backups everywhere!

But that helped because now I know what I did. Two days ago I was in my iTunes folder trying to keep things "tidy" and didn't want files hanging out, so I dropped them in the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder. (That included the four current iTunes Library files. Then next time I opened up iTunes, everything (playlists, etc) were gone.

The link you sent me to was confusing, with re-naming, moving etc.

So what I did was went into Time Machine, looked at what the iTunes folder looked like three days ago, copied those, and pasted into the current folder, then opened iTunes and everything is back where it belongs-all 12,000+ songs! Whew!

    So much for being tidy!

    Thanks!
