Jan 27, 2015 5:26 PM in response to Kandorby Jon-Eric Eliker,If you're connecting via Bluetooth maybe check the permissions for Uconnect on your phone. Go to Settings > Bluetooth then click the little "i" button and ensure notifications are enabled. If not that might explain why your text messages aren't read.

Feb 10, 2015 1:22 PM in response to LastKnight55by BillyJIV,I see a couple of users on this listserv/board posted a possible solution. It worked for me, at least partially.
When I went to SETTINGS | GENERAL | PODCASTS | and unchecked SYNC PODCASTS, I was able to finally get the message on the uCONNECT to stop displaying the warning message about syncing the music catalog and actually display sync completed.
Now the question is, how long does it actually take to build the BROWSE functionality (and I assume the playlists, album art, additional music file information, etc.)?
I do have a lot of music on my iPOD 5 (64MB), about 9,000.
The warning message states that large catalogs can take a significant amount of time.
The support staff at uCONNECT don't have any information on how many song/minute or MB/minute the system processes.
Does anyone here know about how long it took for you and how many songs or what size of total music catalog you have?
I think I am making progress I hope...
uCONNECT staff don't seem to know anything about this possible work around. If this works for me, I am going to call them back and ask them to add this information to their FAQ database for when users call them.

Mar 19, 2015 7:50 PM in response to LastKnight55by Albi 007,Hi, I am new to this forum. I just bought a new Alfa Romeo Mito QV and I have an Iphone 5 with IOS 8.2.
I had the same issues as you described where IPOD connectivity through USB cable was not working and no reboots or new cables would fix it.
In the end I tried the suggestion in these posts to delete all the podcasts and the subscriptions and it worked a treat.
My phone now connects without any issues via bluetooth and via usb cable.
Very Happy! Hope this helps the rest of you.

Mar 28, 2015 5:56 PM in response to LastKnight55by bobtherieau,It's March 2015 and I just updated my trusty old iPhone 4S to iOS 8.2 figuring that the flaws had been worked out. I connected to my 2012 Wrangler's Uconnect 130 system via USB for a road trip and it also would not play from the Uconnect controls. After following advice here to stop synching podcasts AND to not show all songs (so Uconnect doesnt have to index media that's in the cloud), it's now working fine. Thanks everybody!

May 19, 2015 7:37 PM in response to Meichtrdby PatKoenig,I bought a new car that has uConnect and when my iPhone is connected in the car, I don't get notifications of any type - it's like the sound is off. I don't see any replies to this question but it's happening to my husband too. We both have iPhone 5S running iOS 8.3.
Thanks

Jul 15, 2015 6:53 PM in response to BillyJIVby jmartin22,I am still having issues with this. I do not have any podcasts and I turned off the "Sync Podcast" option. This is frustrating and I'm getting the run around from both uConnect and Apple as to whose issue this is.

Jul 18, 2015 3:49 PM in response to LastKnight55by xandr00,I'm having the same issue. I'm pretty sure everyone is. It worked before the iOS 8 update, now it's broken. It's broken on iOS 9 as well. This is ridiculous that it hasn't been fixed by either party. No one wants to take ownership and there are THOUSANDS of people affected by this. So much for "it just works". My Nexus 6 can hook up no problem through USB and play music, mistakenly traded down to an iPhone 6 plus. Honestly, I'm sorry I even took a chance with Apple.

Sep 20, 2015 5:07 PM in response to xandr00by Steve So.,I'm not sure why you are blaming Apple for something that is a UConnect issue. Does your Apple device play with headphones on? Check. Does it play when it's intermingled with Chrysler's UConnect? Nope. It is UConnect's failure to release an update to properly interact with Apple Music/iCloud/etc.

Sep 24, 2015 3:39 PM in response to LastKnight55by Josh_30,After being frustrated with my 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland's UConnect system being broken (iPhone won't play via USB or Bluetooth, SD card refuses to play, and recently even my XM had been flaky) I decided to see what I could do on my own to fix it. I downloaded the latest software update for my UConnect system... still broken. Updated my iPhone to iOS9, still broken. Then I found a link on YouTube for an engineering menu on the UConnect system of my Jeep. (I'm not responsible if you brick your UConnect doing this... But it worked for me). Hold down the driver temp up/down buttons simultaneously with the system on, and after a few seconds and the engineering memy will come up. Choose "factory reset" and wait for the system to reboot. It will look VERY different. In my case, blue with an SRT logo on the screen (it's usually brown with a Jeep logo) and has different buttons. Don't worry, that'll be fixed in a minute. Turn the vehicle off, and wait for the system to go completely down and all lights go out. (It takes like 30 seconds or so after the vehicle is off, in my case). Then tu it back on, and it should boot into the normal system (Brown with Jeep logo and all of the appropriate buttons). Your Bluetooth, USB, and SD card will all work now... At least mine did. You have to go to XM's website and send a reset signal to your radio, as the XM subscription info will be lost, but that takes like 5 mins to refresh. All saved Nav locations and some preferences/presets will be reset as well. But hey, at least the Media tab works now!
Hopefully this will help someone. It seems it just takes a reset of the system to work with the new software. Something UConnect won't let you do without getting into the Engineering menu. The dealer could probably do this as well, if you're not comfortable.

Sep 30, 2015 6:06 AM in response to Steve So.by dinky2,Since IOS8 playing audio via bluetooth stopped working. I've been told the network layer in IOS has been rewritten and is causing a lot of problems, including Wifi and bluetooth problems. Also it was said IOS 9 would solve this. Unfortunately it doesn't. It's still crap
I have issued a bug report to Apple about this. Hope it helps

Nov 7, 2015 5:01 PM in response to Jon-Eric Elikerby wasatchkatie,This worked for me. After an update, I didn't realize that the notifications slider for Uconnect had been turned off. I had been trying to fix the problem by going into the app. I couldn't remember how to get the messages working until this post reminded me that I needed to click the Uconnect "i" in the bluetooth list of connected devices. It worked immediately for me to receive texts. Of course, I still can't send any texts through the car. I consider this a real drawback to owning an iPhone. I wonder how much longer Apple is going to ignore acting on this issue. It makes their product look backwards compared to Android.

Dec 1, 2015 10:53 AM in response to LastKnight55by jorjo90,Hello Guys, I have an Alfa Romeo Giulietta with Connect (updated to the last version by oficial shop) and my iPhone 5S in iOS 9.1. I have the same problem that others of you, my device connects with Uconnect in the right way (contacts and recent calls) but when I do a call or I have an incoming call the sound is off... I've tried all of your possible solutions but it doesn't work properly. The oficial shop told me that the problem is in my device because I saw a test with and android mobile and everything was ok. Any new solutions would be appreciated.

Feb 10, 2016 3:04 PM in response to LastKnight55by 300SRT,I am having similar issues with the UConnect system. My iPhone 6 plus automatically connects to the bluetooth in my car and begins playing my music on shuffle. "Sometimes" (about 60% of the time) if I go to change the song from the controls in the car (on screen or through steering wheel controls), audio stops completely (song is still playing however I hear nothing). I have not yet had this problem if I was to pick up the phone and change the song from there. However this becomes a problem because I am usually DRIVING my car. Not only does the audio not play anymore in the car, the audio won't play... Period. Even after leaving the car, and even after turning bluetooth off, there is NO audio output whatsoever (through iPhone speakers or headphones). The only way to solve this is by completely rebooting the phone. I thought the latest software update would fix this, but it didn't. I tried updating all firmware for the UConnect system as well with no success. Anybody else have this problem?
