Q: I don't see any photos in the My Photo Stream album in Photos

I converted over from iPhoto to Photos. Didn't notice it before, but I go to My Photo Stream and there is nothing there.

Followed everything under the help for this questions on this page:

I can see My Photo Stream on my iPhone, so it should be working.

Do you have any new photos in MyPHotoStream? It only streams the last 30 days photos - on each device it shows the last 30 days plus any photos previously added fro that device but the older ones do not show on other devices

    Yup, I have.

I got this, when I tried to activate my iCloud Photo Library:

I have it on a drive that is internal in my old Mac Pro tower. I did go on that computer and check the volume and it is Extended (Journaled). Not sure if the Journaled does something bad which effects it, or that I connect to the drive via a Shared drive. Any insight you have, would be very helpful.

I am copying it out and trying to reformat. Not sure if it will work.

Mac OS extended (journaled) is the correct format - how are you connected to that drive? You need to have a direct hard wired connection using USB, FireWire or ThunderBolt

If you drag the library to you main hard drive everything should be fine

I am connected through ethernet to the Shared computer.

I don't want to have over 30GBs taken up on this computer. The hard drive isn't big enough to handle it and effectively run my computer for work.

So there is no other way around not being able to see my Photo Stream anymore? That is crazy!

    Yes there is another way

You need to have a direct hard wired connection using USB, FireWire or ThunderBolt

The Photos library can not be on a network - it must be on a volume formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) using a direct fast wired connection like USB, FireWire or Thunderbolt that is not being used as a TimeMachine backup volume - do that and make sure it is your system library and you are set with no problems

I went and ordered a 15' firewire cord to connect to my laptop on the other side of the room.

My question is how do I mount my drive on the Mac Pro tower on my MacBook?

Make sure your Photos Library is set to be the System Photo Library:
