Same thing. I moved from 6 Pls to 6s Plus and my iMessage and FaceTime will not activate. I called AppleCare support and she advised me that there are many with this issue today and that the iMessage/FaceTime activation servers were overloaded today. With all the new phones activating I can see why possible. She said she had 5 calls in the last hour about this same issue. It should resolve itself within 24 hours.

I just got off the phone with them as well.  I feel a bit better knowing I am not the only one, I mean no offense.  This has been driving me nuts all day...I have restored phone 4 times now trying to get it to work and sometimes I can get ti activate, but then they don't work.  I was able to get it to work for a few minutes by turning Facetime OFF and then it worked for 5 min, then when I turned back on, stopped working and wouldn't working again by turning off.  They must me really overloaded.

Other issue I just noticed on last restore was all my Messages were gone.  Apple over the phone sent me to a seniot advisor and they said I would need to give it 24 hours to have those re-populate as well???  Never heard of that one for messages to come back in,  Maybe once iMessage is working fine they will all repopulate in I am guessing, or hope!

    Thanks for the reply!

    UPDATE!

1st - I did a manual back up in iTunes.

2nd - Fully wiped phone and restored in iTunes.

3rd - Restore from iTunes BACK UP, NOT iCloud

    This worked! iMessaged activated instantly!
