Q: iOS 9 Siri does NOT beep.

I upgraded to iOS 9 and if I hold the home button, Siri does not beep and I feel vibrations. And the sound appears only if I change in Siri´s volume settings the speaker to iPhone or if I swtich off vibrations, but then I don´t have vibrations. I tried to reinstall the software fourtimes, but nothing happens. I don´t know wat is wrong.

My iPhone 6 does not beep or vibrate and I have been all through the settings looking for anything.  My coworkers iPhone 5 vibrates when you hold down the home button.  I need one or the other behavior.  I downloaded 9.0.1 and this changed nothing.  It beeps when I say "Hey Siri", but not when I hold down the home button.  I often listen to text messages and send text messages with Siri without ever looking at the display.  It is disturbing that I get no feedback right away.  I think it is a bug or a badly executed feature.

If the removal of the sound is not a bug, then why do I still hear it on the iPad Mini 4? Youd think that if they removed it on purpose, they'd start with the newest device.  There's a bug here--we just don't know which version is correct.

I have low vision and I really need the feedback of the beeps... Apple IOS 9 has left me in the dark and having the beeps should be an accessibility option.  It would even be okay if Siri said "WHAT!" or "Yes Dear".... just some sort of aural feedback is needed.

Bug or designed this is garbage and the beep needs to happen. Sometimes Siri is so slow you never know when to talk unless looking at your phone which is not possible a good share of the time.  This is only one of at last twenty examples where the beep is essential. If by design please bring the beep back.

    It's a FEATURE?

Well then will Apple provide the code showing that it was INTENTIONALLY removed for certain phones and not others, as well as why it only vibrates when Vib & Ring are selected and not Vib only, and why it works for some languages and not others.  So this sounds like a FEATURE?  REALLY!?!?

When that happens, I will believe them.  It's called proof.

Until then it's shear and utter BS.

Oh I forgot Apple can't do that they will claim some more BS about proprietary mumbo jumbo.

The BEEP works but only if you do the "Hey Siri" to activate it hands free or plugged in instead of holding the home button down.

    So I started doing that....

Instead of just taking the beep away, why not leave it as an option?  That way, Beep lovers will have it, and haters can turn it off!

I hate it,if i want the beeb to be gone it should be my option. Why  do they always have to change things and make it harder for people to use there phones.

@gtn2old - It's the Apple way: "It's our way or the highway for our customers. We own this market so who cares what the customers want, until too many scream at us that is. Then we may reluctantly listen to appease them."

This is the first time I have logged in to voice my opinion. I am extremely irritated that apple changed this feature and gave us no way to restore it.
