Q: iphoto impossible to update

I've just updated my MacBookPro from Mavericks to Yosemite.

iPhoto needs to be updated but I can't find it anymore in the appStore, neither in the updates list, neither on my Purchases list.

How can I update it???

I can't use the new Photos either, as it states that my iPhoto library isn't up to date to be imported in Photos.

And I can't update my PhotoLibrary as I can't update iPhoto

I'm in a dead end!!

Thanks for any help or idea.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), null

Click here and run the tool. If you were using a version of iPhoto old enough to require this updater, you won’t be able to update it to 9.6.1.

Thank you for the quick answer, but...

I was using iPhoto 9.5.1 under Mavericks (the most up to date version for Mavericks)

Yosemite needs iPhoto 9.6 or 9.6.1 (iPhoto 9.5.1 won't run under Yosemite) but the update is no more available  on the appStore.

The new application Photos is available with Yosemite, but it needs a PhotoLibrary  created or updated by iPhoto 9.6.x to be able to import it.

I can't update the PhotoLibrary to 9.6.x version as I can't update iPhoto to that version

I don't see any solution to find my thousands of photos back... I can't access them neither by iPhoto neither by Photos

Did you check in the Purcahses section to see if iPhoto 9.6.1 was present?  Also make sure it's not been hidden: Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support

iPhoto, Aperture, Lion installer, MountainLion installer, Mavericks installer have been suppressed by Apple from the Purchase section.

No one can find them anymore (they were available a week ago but today they are gone!)

You may check by yourself with your own appStore account

I'm afraid I'm in a dead end if Apple doesn't bring back they availability of iPhoto in this Purchase section to allow to update it

Try moving your current iPhoto application to the Trash bin (don't empty it) and then go to the App Store and see if iPhoto appears in the Purchases section.

I already tried that... to no avail!

iPhoto is no where to be found... and I'm not the only one confronted with this disappearance (these disappearances... as Aperture, and the OS X version prior to Yosemite have also been suppressed)

For the time being, I'm going to revert my upgrade and reinstall Mavericks (thanks to a clone I made before upgrading)

I have exactly the same issue - I think it's shameful the way Apple have handled this.
