Q: Can a Sprint Iphone 5 work with T-mobile network? How can one unlock with the MSL code? Sprint is not abiding by the Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act.  FCC will only enforce if we file more complains.

T-Mobile is a GSM network whereas Sprint is a CDMA network. They are incompatible. Sprint is not obliged to unlock a phone that is still under contract. Their phones may not be capable of being unlocked.

I have the exact issue with Sprint.  I am given a MSL code but I think it is totally useless.  I also got inconsistent answers when I called Sprint customer support and tech support.  Some said I just need to take my Sprint iPhone 5 with the MSL code to other carriers that they can unlock the phone.  I took it to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and they all told me that is not the case.  Sprint should unlock it for you first.  Then Sprint Management Team called me.  They said I have to get this iPhone 5 out of Sprint service and then they can unlock it.  Well, they want me to get a different phone first so they can take this phone out of service.  If I simply just disconnect Sprint service completely, they probably won't help me at all afterwards.  So do you see the run-around pattern?  This must have been going on for the long time and this is how Sprint treats their customers even though the phone is paid for, free and clear.  They just keep telling you story but not unlocking your phone.  I think most of the people in this scenario will eventually give up.  Whatever CTIA regulation means nothing to Sprint.  I wonder if there is a class action lawsuit here.  Any advice from anyone?
