Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities.
I see from your post that you're not getting notifications for apps on your iPhone. To help troubleshoot this issue please follow the steps outlined below.
Not getting notifications for a specific app
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you’re not getting notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
- Go to Settings > Notifications to verify that the app supports notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, make sure that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
- Make sure you’re signed in to your Apple ID.
- If you’ve recently installed an app or restored a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.

Sep 26, 2015 2:51 PM in response to alex_h1by monwen7925,Alex - thanks so much for your reply. I've done all the diagnostics prior to submitting to this forum. I believe there to be a bug due to the fact that I did not have this issue in ios8. The two apps are gmail and bbm (which I have to use for office security). The problem is sporadic & occurs in about half the emails I receive as well as the bbm messages. I believe others have had the issue with WhatsApp as well. I'm just wondering if I should downgrade to ios 8 until the bug is worked out. Again, thanks for you help.
