Q: game center broken in ios 9

Anyone else seeing this? I saw this during the beta but in the last beta it would actually load eventually. But now it doesn't do anything. Just sits on the white screen. It works perfectly fine on my iPad Mini 3, though.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Looks like I spoke too soon. After rebooting (just a normal shut down and power on, not a reset) Game Center initially reconnects (about a minute after startup). I can then play a game that uses GC (for multiplayer in this case) for about 5-10mins, then it locks up again and games can no longer use it (and going into GC in settings or the GC App shows a blank screen).

Really hope Apple fix this soon!

Wow, since I deleted my old apps that were not compatible, I am having no problem.  Did you click on each app on your iPad to see if it will delete?  You don't have to delete it, just make them wiggle and see if you can delete it when you click on the x.  If you get the message do you really want to delete then cancel it.  When I did that, I found several apps that clicking on the x did nothing.  I then went to my computer into iTunes and deleted them.  Since I did that I have had no problem.  I read somewhere that the biggest reason for the white screen is that an app is hung up.  Hope this helps.

I went ahead and logged back into Game Center to find out about this, and every app except one came up.

I removed the one app, and I still have the issue. Restarting my iPod made no difference.

This might work for some, but it did not work for me at all. I lost my saved game data, and now after spending a good half hour trying to get it back, Apple verified it being gone forever. Fortunately, I wasn't far in the game, but its still annoying.

MY iPad mini has been restoring from an iCloud backup since last Tuesday! I can't delete anything because it keeps putting everything back in as it restores. There has to be an actual fix for the problem besides forced-deletion of apps. I have definitely learned a few things in this fiasco. never again will I update iOS unil it's been out a couple weeks.

I Had to go to my Mac computer, log in to iTunes and delete them there.

Same issue here since the iOS 9 update, and the 9.0.1 update . Can't access game center from the settings area or from the GC icon on my iPhone 4S. It is working fine on my iPad 2. Nothing but freezing from Settings, and a white blank screen from the GC icon. It's also causing any game I use that uses GC to freeze. Very annoying!!!

So, is there an estimate of when the 'fix' will arrive to correct the blank screen on the Game Center download?

There won't be a fix until there is an iOS update.

The only way to really help against this kind of thing from happening again would be to separate the apps bundled with iOS from iOS.

From there, Apple could simply mark them as non-removable. This would allow these things to be updated outside the OS updates.

In addition, because they would most likely be seen as extensions to iOS, they could be updated more regularly for these kings of bugs, and if need be or wanted, completely re-written from the ground up. The user would never know the difference with the exception of being able to update them through the app store.

Apple seems all to quick to integrate apps into iOS, however if anything goes wrong (like this) it takes them an extremely long amount of time to fix them because of the integration.
