Q: Problem with software: alt-key is always pushed

Hello everyone,

i have a problem with my Mac.

When I start it, it seems to think I alway press the alt-key is always pressed (which is not true)

This was indicated by:

-I could only write special characters

- When hovering over a text or a textfield, my cursor turns into a +.

I tried restarting, it didn't work. I tried restarting again, this time with only my mouse connected. I tried typing using the digital keyboard. At first, the keyboard showed normal characters, but when typing on it, the only output were special characters again. After that, I pressed the alt key on the digital keyboard, and the normal characters turned into special chars. The alt button appeared to be stuck now on the digital keyboard too. This happened in Safari, TextEdit, the searchbar and everywhere else. I tried to reset (pushing the on-button for a few seconds to completely restart my Mac. Didn't work at all.

Interstingly, when restarting, the mac didn't show me his Bootcamp menu (wether I want to start in Windows or Mac mode) as it should usally do when the alt key is pressed down.

this is what makes me suggest that this is a software error.

Please help!

Thanks in advance, Luca
