The Workout app does not map Outdoor Runs.
Apple Watch does not have a built-in GPS function, so it has no means of doing that.

May 6, 2016 1:19 PM in response to Jonathan UKby rbvrabel,I have used MapMyRun on my phone for years when I go running and walking. Obviously, I have to take my phone with me to have this benefit. Now that I have my Apple Watch, I still always take my iPhone with me.
Therefore, I don't see why the app can't use the GPS on the smartphone to both track the run on a map and to allow an auto-pause function to work. Granted, it would be better to have GPS on the watch, but for 90% of users it won't matter because they can't separate themselves from the iPhone anyway.
Then, I could start my run/walk by just using the Apple Run App and not have to simultaneiously start the MapMyRun app on my phone. KISS...
