Q: ipad2 failing to restore. error 1671. Any ideas on how to rebuild it?

I have an ipad2. I know its an old beast. but don't think its backed up  can't tell as its giving multitude of errors. we tried updating iOS.....never a good idea but was worth a shot. Cant get to it to tell if its been backed up or not.

 

Tried following instructions from apple. Logged out of my iTunes account (as it was used with another account at home), plugged in device and tried to do a restore and update. Failed and gave me error 1671.

 

Where to from here?

    Try this: On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > and Erase All Content and Settings. That will bring you to New iPad status and if it then works you can attempt to restore your backup. If it then does not work you have a corrupted backup, repeat the steps above and set as New.
