Q: when I try to open photos for the first time it goes to preparing library and when it gets to 24per cent Photo  freezes

Thanks for your reply , it's stored in pictures in the finder on the mac , but since I got yosemite the icon has disappeared from the dock and I can't open it , it goes to the welcome page for Photos, when I try to open I photo  from the finder, then I choose the library to prepare , it gets to 24 percent and then freezes ???

Hi Larry thanks for your help, I just tried your suggestion and still Iit gets to 24 percent and stops ??? anymore ideas ?
