This is a show stopper for me and I imagine many others. Very disappointing, especially with the iPad pro about to come out. I can only hope they release a new version of Keynote that has this very basic feature.

I have been using various presentation applications for years (20+), and have never had need of anything called "Table Light View", so no, perhaps not as essential to most users as you seem to think. However, if it is that important to you, you might have a look in the app store for one that supports it.

You may find, like most other people, that it is very helpful - which is why it is standard with both Powerpoint and Keynote for Mac.
