Q: iTunes back up is smaller than iPhone usage?

Hey

I just got an iPhone 6S 64GB and I had an iPhone 6 64GB too. the usage on my iPhone 6 is around 55GB and when I did a back up on itunes it shows that the backup is around 40GB so how come? does that mean there is an issue with it and it's fully backed up to restore all my data to my iPhone 6S or it's normaly not to back up everything?

Thanks!

iPhone 6, iOS 8

It is normal. The information below (from About backups in iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support ) details what is not included:

An iTunes backup includes nearly all of your device's data and settings. An iTunes backup doesn't include:

    • Content from the iTunes and App Stores, or PDFs downloaded directly to iBooks (You can back up this content using Transfer Purchases in iTunes.)
    • Content synced from iTunes, like imported MP3s or CDs, videos, books, and photos
    • Photos already stored in the cloud, like My Photo Stream, and iCloud Photo Library
    • Touch ID settings
    • Apple Pay information and settings
    • Activity, Health, and Keychain data (To back up this content, you'll need to use Encrypted Backup in iTunes.)
