Q: My iPhone 4 is completely dead and won't charge, turn on, no signs of life!

98bluewave has probably not been around here since he/she posted three and a half years ago.  You say the reset worked. The phone should be immediately functional, unless you have another problem?  What do you mean by "open my phone"?

Is it supposed to come up as charging or nah bc my iPhone is completely dead and i have plugged it up to my computer but i have no idea if its working or not how do i knw?

My iphone 4 has been plugged in for 12 hours and is still acting like it's out of battery. I've tried everything

My iphone 4 was charging overnight and i shut it down so i didn't get any notifications. This morning, it was giving me the low battery symbol like it was dead, which is odd because it was charging all night. I've kept it plugged in all day, switching chargers, and its still dead. Before this happened, it had had really bad battery life, dying just 30 minutes after me unplugging it at 100%. Help!

This was a perfect fix for my 5s.  I just kept holding it down ... and the completely dead phone came back to life. Thank you.

My I phone is totally unable to change and i also try several times to rest its also not working,, my i phone was drop in tub of water, that time light was blinking from camera side, i try to switch off but it not got so please advise me regarding this.

oh my God thank you very much. last night my 5s went off for no reason and i cant turn it on no matter how long i press the sleep/wake button. i called the operator and then i saw your comment and try it by myself and my iphone is ON!!! thanks to you

Holding the reset button and the home button for about 20 seconds and "wallah" it woke up and is fine!. Thanks for  the great tip! It was charging while I did it because i thought it might have been a dead battery but it was not the battery!   Over two years old and still going strong!
