Sep 30, 2015 2:14 AM in response to Phil_from_Gideon-ITby Phil_from_Gideon-IT,I seriously doubt we'll get an official fix from Apple. I logged it as a bug report and the screenshot below shows the response from Apple.
If you can't read it in the photo it says...
Apple Developer Relations29-Sep-2015 06:34 PM
Engineering has provided the following feedback regarding this issue: Syncing notes with Outlook is no longer supported for iOS 9 devices. We are closing this bug report. If you have questions regarding the resolution of this issue, please update your bug report with that information. Please be sure to regularly check new Apple releases for any updates that might affect this issue.
Which is rubbish. (I can't believe the word s-u-ck-s is banned on here? *** Apple?)

Sep 30, 2015 9:21 AM in response to Phil_from_Gideon-ITby D J Pepe,Thank you for the post, at least we know where we all stand with this issue. I guess I will have to continue to use email and cut and paste to keep my notes synced for the short term but speaking only for my self, I will have to start looking to another smartphone that will work with MS Outlook contacts, calendars and notes. I am not about pay a whole lot of money to change my entire digital ecosystem for the sake of one device. Even though I really do like my iPhone a lot, I'm not about to go to all that effort and expense just so I can continue using an iPhone and iPad when I can just go to a another smartphone a lot quicker and cheaper. I'll sell the iPad3 and both iPhone6s and probably have enough money left over after buying a couple of Windows phones to take my Wife and I out for a nice dinner. I won't actually make the change for a year or more so Apple will have time to bring back notes syncing but I'm not going hold my breath.

Oct 3, 2015 10:30 AM in response to JaneatWayneby iUS18,★HelpfulWell, the suggestion I posted was deleted by the moderator and I received this message yesterday evening:
"We removed your post Re: iOS 9 / iTunes / Outlook Notes sync on Windows because it contained a poll or a petition. We understand wanting to share experiences, but these forums are meant for technical questions that can be answered by the community."
My post was obviously not a "poll or petition" but rather a very solid method for obtaining a resolution to the TECHNICAL problem being experienced. I know my suggestion is one of the most effective ways to get a problem resolved because a similar suggestion worked with Adobe (which has never been overly accessible). In that case, there was a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader that posters on their forum had been complaining about for over nine months with no luck. I posted the exact advice to the Adobe forum that I did here (sorry, can't repeat it!), and it was never removed. Within a week a representative of Adobe phoned me to let me know they were going to solve the problem and less than two weeks after my post, they rolled out a fix.
A company that will censor a suggestion that customers write a letter to the corporate-level to voice their opinion is not the type of company I am comfortable with.
BTW: I don't know why I am even writing this post because I know it will never be seen...

Oct 3, 2015 10:38 AM in response to iUS18by Phil_from_Gideon-IT,I thought your suggestion was extremely good and will be writing my letters. I'm glad I subscribed to email notifications as at least I have a copy in my inbox! Apple are a disgracefully behaved company at times. I long for a return to the corporate culture in the days of the Apple II when Apple printed a circuit diagram in the hardware reference manual...Woz's belief in openness was a wonderful thing. They are also missing the perfectionism of Jobs too, his obsession with secrecy and overbearing control may have been hard on his staff and supply-chain but it ensured good quality products. Since his sad demise the software quality has plummeted IMHO.
If Apple don't respond to their customer's criticisms and complains and more importantly their needs then what use are they? Companies come and go....no-one is too big to fail...just look at poor old Nokia!(I imagine this post will be removed by the censor too.)

Oct 3, 2015 11:27 AM in response to iUS18by D J Pepe,My letters are typed and will be in the mail today. I also posted the info to a couple of other user forums and have seen others say they will write the letters and re-post the info elsewhere. As Phil_from_Gideon-IT said, writing a letter is an excellent idea and I believe as others do that it carries more weight that just an email or blog posting. Its too bad that Apple has to hide behind moderators that would delete a post from someone expressing a legitimate concern and a possible solution simply because it it critical of Apple.

Oct 3, 2015 11:40 AM in response to Phil_from_Gideon-ITby iUS18,Very well said, Phil_from_Gideon-IT. The world would be a far better place overall if more humans were like Steve Wozniak, but Apple's stock price wouldn't be so high! Personally, my vote would be for a more Woz-like world.
Apparently a number of forum members received the post through email notifications so it looks like there will be a few letters sent along with yours. I do know (and you may have received the email notice as well) that wrnrp123 is sending letters, although his actual post apparently was deep-sixed along with mine. If you send them, I send them and DJ Pepe sends them, at least they will know something is going on regarding this issue.
To me, the most disturbing thing is the way they put so many customers' important data at risk. It shows a disregard that surprises me and shakes my confidence in Apple.

Oct 3, 2015 12:08 PM in response to iUS18by D J Pepe,It just irks the you know what out of me because in the back of my mind I can hear a a couple of Apple's engineers talking about the upcoming change when one says to the other that there will be a lot of people upset by the change and the other engineer saying "Don't worry, they'll get over it."........NOT!!!
-
Oct 3, 2015 12:38 PM in response to D J Pepeby iUS18,Exactly! That is why I believe it will be helpful to make the management level aware of this issue. They may have no idea what has occurred. If they become aware of the problem and still choose to treat their customers' data as expendable, then at least you know the level of trust you should put in Apple. I'm all for giving them a chance to do the right thing.

Oct 4, 2015 5:11 PM in response to Phil_from_Gideon-ITby ericfromCFA,Why can't Apple and Microsoft play nice in the sandpit? I find this lack of interoperability extremely frustrating. I love my iPhone, but I also love my Windows PC. In this day and age, why can't we synchronise similar information? Outlook Notes is pretty basic, so I wouldn't have thought sync to be beyond the abilities of Apple's engineers.
PS: Something to think about - I have a work Exchange account, and sync doesn't seem to be a problem there (well not yet anyway!). I'm no IT guru, but is there a way we could simulate an Exchange server on our personal PCs to enable a data exchange between iPhones and PCs? Any thoughts appreciated, as I am quite desperate!

Oct 5, 2015 7:44 AM in response to Phil_from_Gideon-ITby gadgetphan,You have a few options for resolving your inability to sync Windows PC Outlook Notes with your iPhone and/or iPad.
1. Use iCloud for Windows.
2. Follow the instructions from one of the users in this discussion.
3. Switch to third party software.
I opted for the third because I don't want my private info in the cloud. I gave up on using iTunes for Outlook sync because it wasted hours of my time having to find a fix every time something broke.
The right third party software depends on your needs. Do you want to sync with cloud or not? Do you want to sync Outlook Notes only or Outlook Notes, Tasks (Reminders), Contacts and Calendar? Do you want to sync via wireless or USB? Do you want to sync through home Wi-Fi or Internet?
For my own needs, I use AkrutoSync. Ever since I switched to that, I stopped having iPhone and iPad Outlook sync problems.

Oct 5, 2015 2:29 PM in response to gadgetphanby dongalasso,Thank you. Just downloaded AkrutoSync and am really happy. It was easy to set up and easy to use. Guess the only thing I'll be syncing with iTunes will be photos going forward. Thank you for offering a simple and effective solution !!!!!!!!
