Q: Issues post upgrading to elcapitan final version

After choosing Internet recovery it shows mountain lion as it was originally installed OS X but it doesn't install as system says newer OS X is installed. Normal recovery method gets stuff at downloading additional components screen and remaining time increases from 5 mins to 30hours and seems stuck that too on 6mb broadband connection.

All this happened after installing El Capitan and computer getting stuck on boot screen after first restart

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), iOS 9.0.2

I think your drive may have failed, then.

    Hey

well i know I can wipe the drive and install mountain lion again but in this case I lose my unsaved files. When u upgrade OS X u don't think it will not boot next time u restart your computer.

Two main issues with Apple if they go through these forums

    1. Why Internet recovery only recovers it back to osX it comes with when everything is getting downloaded from Internet might as well send latest software and then let people enter App Store details to activate it or purchases it

    2. in the eventuality a person needs external usb to boot why limit this option to MacBook. People don't need to have two MacBooks to do this and option should be accessible from PC as well... As it's more likely a person has a PC and a macbook rather two MacBooks.

Now I was able to recover my laptop by trying internal recovery again somehow this time everything worked and downloaded and dint get stuck. May be initially too many people upgrading to El Capitan was making servers inaccessible.
