Q: My spellcheck is not working

after the new update the spellcheck seems to be using another language other than English which is how it is set in settings.  It seems it works incorectly on email and text

    What settings exactly?  The only ones that matter for spellcheck are those for the Keyboard.  If  you have a "globe" key, tap that to see what keyboard is in fact active.
