Q: Iphoto to Photos conversion

I have updated to yosemite and so I have by default updated to photos from iPhoto. After some glitches that is working, and my iPhoto library is now "migrated". So now I have 2 x 12GB files in my pictures folder. Do I need them both or can I delete the iPhoto library to make some disc space?

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

You should be able to remove it. Do a backup. Quit Photos, move the iPhoto library to the trash (don't empty it), then open Photos. If all is normal, empty the trash.
