Q: Pages and Split View in El Capitan
MB Pro retina OS 10.11 all iWork apps are the latest versions
I posted this question on El Capitan site but received no answer so re-posting here.
Am I doing something wrong? I have successfully used Split View with various pairs of apps (Calendar, Acrobat, Pages etc) but cannot within iWork.
For example, if I have 3 iWork docs open on the DT, hold down on the green circle on one of them (a Pages doc), that doc successfully opens at half screen showing the other docs (Numbers or Keynote) to the right, but they are marked unavailable to view!
Can it be true that Apple do not make their own apps available for this?
TIA for any hints.

Three articles to review regarding Mission Control, and Split View:
- Mac Basics: Use Mission Control to switch between apps or spaces
- OS X El Capitan: Focus on apps in full screen or Split View
- Use two Mac apps side by side in Split View
In your scenario, you have three application windows open on your Desktop. When you choose to split view Pages, you create a new Mission Control space containing Pages, a separate space containing the two corralled applications, and a third space containing the Desktop. The Finder's option+tab will only work in the Desktop space, and not for switching between Mission Control spaces.
With Pages currently in Split View, you can click on one of the remaining two corralled application windows, and it will automatically join Pages in a combination split view. Now, you have the Desktop in its own space, Pages/Numbers, in their own space, and Keynote is orphaned into its own space. Press F3 to see this icon arrangement of spaces across the top of your screen. Want to access Keynote, then click on its icon, and switch to that space. You can configure Mission Control, so that when you open Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, they will self-assign to the same Mission Control space.
When you want to take an application out of Mission Control, and Split View, you would press F3, and hover over the particular space. A diagonally opposed arrow will appear in the upper left corner of the hovered space. Click this double-arrow, and you will be switched back to your Desktop space with one or both applications open in normal mode.
