Oct 5, 2015 7:53 PM in response to bobdog54by ChrisJ4203,★HelpfulWhen you enter the email address, is the iPhone Mail app trying to set the account up as an IMAP account? If so, then you need to fool it into not completing the task so you can choose POP as the email account type.
Start out by entering the email address and the type in your password incorrectly. When the account creating finally errors out, you should get the screen to choose POP as the account type. From there you can enter the correct password and any other account information that you need to enter. If this is a POP account, you will not have the option for contacts, calendars and notes, unless this is an Exchange account, which would not be POP. What provider is this mail account from?

Oct 5, 2015 8:01 PM in response to ChrisJ4203by bobdog54,You are right about it trying to set up IMAP account but it allowed me to switch over to a POP so just filled in all the info as required and the mail comes and goes. I think you answered the question although the Yahoo and Google accounts give you those options but are not great since they only bring over the "yahoo" or "google" contacts. Not sure what happened today but my bizmail.yahoo account that had worked for the last years and sync'd all my contacts with MS Outlook made me get a new password and I ended having to delete the old bizmail and start over which then has not given me the options I had before. I do have another issue that somehow may be tied with this but since I updated to 9.01 (and then to 9.02) I cannot click on the iPhone icon on iTunes and get the sync page to come up. It will still sync off the menu but I cannot look to see if the update changed anything on the sync menus. I also have a message that has come up a few times that says mingler.exe has stopped working. Thanks for your suggestions.

Oct 5, 2015 8:09 PM in response to bobdog54by ChrisJ4203,That seems to be an iTunes/Windows error. I've seen that before. I suggest that you remove iTunes and reinstall it by using the information in this support document. Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support After that, attempt to sync.

Oct 5, 2015 8:20 PM in response to bobdog54by bobdog54,Thanks - have let the non responding iTunes open and although the CPU is working overtime, it is slowing coming up with the sync window. I am going to let it continue to see if becomes operational but I will need to uninstall as you suggested. Will let you know how this turns out.

Oct 5, 2015 9:01 PM in response to bobdog54by bobdog54,Thanks to both of you for your help this evening. After about 45 minutes my full iTunes came up and I was able to change the settings such that it moved all my contacts, the calendar and the notes from my PC to my iPhone. Since I am on the road for awhile, I decided to wait to uninstall until I get back as need my contacts for the trip! Will let you know how it goes and if I can get back to sync'g both ways as I was before. Have a great week!
