May 24, 2015 1:34 AM in response to GadgetJohnby slow_but_low,For me, since iOS 8.3, the problem was fixed.
But in your case I would recommend you to re-install your iPad as new iPad without any backup. Then the problem should be fixed.

Jul 3, 2015 11:43 AM in response to sunnyinlondonby steven369,Hello desperate users, by accident I've found a good solution for 80% of the problems in this thread. I was struggling with my SIM-Card for hours to and it messed up any Internetconnection via WIFI. Some days ago I was cleaning coins from oxidation, so I thought it might work with the SIM-Card as well - and it worked instantly! The problem is an oxidation on the Card, that makes it unreadable for the device - Cook your SIM Card in salty water with a bit of aluminium foil in it, then polish it carefully dry with a microfibre or fine cloth. My card was instantly recognised by the IPAD after this procedure! Hope it will work out for most you!

Oct 1, 2015 2:36 PM in response to sunnyinlondonby BostonBruinsEst1924,I have an iPad 2 that no longer recognizes the SIM card tray, so I got the "no SIM card installed" message occasionally, and the "No SIM" message was always sitting in the upper left. This bothered me. In my case, I simply wanted the cellular radio turned off for good, to avoid seeing the "No SIM" messages, and maybe save some battery life.
Since the Cellular Data option is greyed out when there is no SIM, I could not get to the settings that allowed the radio to be turned off. Software updates and complete wipes and restores did not make this option available.
If your goal is only to turn off Cellular Data, and you don't have a SIM, nor Siri to help you, this is what worked for me:
1). Turn on Airplane Mode and wait at least 15 full seconds (really) to allow the wireless radios to truly shut down. This will buy you time in step #2.
2). Turn Airplane Mode back off, and IMMEDIATELY tap on the greyed out Cellular Data option. If you can get focus to this option during the split second before the iPad realizes there is still no SIM, you'll see all the Cellular Data options appear on the right, including its on/off switch, but all greyed out. Getting warmer.
3). Repeat step #1.
4). Turn Airplane Mode back off once again, and this time, quickly dismiss the "no SIM installed" message, and then you have a split second to tap on the Cellular Data on/off switch. Use two fingers. This can be frustrating, and may take quite a few attempts.
My environment for reference: Original iPad 2, iOS 9.0.2.

You have to be very quick, from switching Airplane mode back I found tapping the Mobile data slider whilst hitting airplane mode off did get it eventually

Oct 15, 2015 5:35 AM in response to ourcoreby Reg Riemer,Hello, thank you for the tip on telling Siri by voice to turn off mobile data Siri replied and said I have turned off mobile data for you I told her thank you, now on my iPad shows me on the top is iPad with Wi-Fi no more irritating warnings about no Sim card this is a perfect six and easy. Thank you

Oct 30, 2015 6:24 PM in response to Reg Riemerby masw,I tried
- telling Siri all sorts of things: turn off using cell/mobile data (it does); , moments later the message pops up.
- put it on airport mode and turn on the wifi - still the no sim message.
- turned off the 'use data when wifi poor'
Finally it seems that telling siri: "stop sending the message no sim card installed" Siri says ok paused, but then a few minutes later, the message pops up again.
Apple: please fix!

Nov 11, 2015 1:24 AM in response to marcevens2000by woodsetts,I haven't scrolled through all the pages but the issue was fixed for me by a suggestion from a sales assistant in a John Lewis department store who suggested a cheap SIM from a Poundland or B&M store (about 99p or even less). I bought one and it fixed the problem. When I asked why the techies at my local Apple store couldn't (or wouldn't) think of this answer my post never appeared - censored? I bet this one will be censored too.

Nov 25, 2015 7:09 AM in response to marcevens2000by I.B.Niemand,Hope you backed up to Icloud 1st! Otherwise guess you are starting fresh!!
EDIT:IF you followed his advice and did the backup 1st just continue and when you enter your apple id it will give you the option to restore!

Nov 25, 2015 9:22 AM in response to woodsettsby I.B.Niemand,Sorry to hear that Hazel!
As annoying as that is (on 1 of my 4 Ipads) personally I would never venture to that side again!
I don't care HOW annoying and obnoxious Apple seems, I have zero problem on 99.99% of my apple products and I will NEVER EVER head back to that mish mosh of pseudo standards and attempts to be everthing to everyone be it a $40 tablet or like you the top of the line wizzo!
Apple for all its faults has been my home since the demise of the Amiga/Video Toaster and NO annoying little fly is going to change the incredible experience they have given and continue to give me!
BUT, I absolutely understand your decision and wish you the best!

Nov 26, 2015 1:07 AM in response to I.B.Niemandby woodsetts,Ben:- It was a great product until recent updates: if I hadn't decided to update I'd have been glad to keep it. It had been trouble free for three years. Even when I changed the keyboard some keys never responded (interface problem?). Oh well. Thanks for your comments & wishes.
