Q: upgrading to Safari 9: now not showing images for some websites
Upgraded to El Capitan and now Safari 9 is not showing images for some websites - try reset, clear cache, removed libraries, etc. Still cannot find a fix. When enabling the developer menu and selecting 'User Agent - Safari iOS 8.1 -iPad' all images show. Chrome/Firefox can display those as well but not new Safari 9.
Disabled and removed all Safari extensions.

It was a problem with the wordpress installed theme for the website (https://booksmango.com) and not Safari:
Fix is following (it seems many wordpress sites have similar issues with Safari 9):
log into your Wordpress site; go to Theme Options / General and add following to your Custom CSS:
html:not(.mobile-true) #main img:not(.animate-element, .ls-s-1),
html:not(.mobile-true) #header img,
html:not(.mobile-true) #bottom-bar img {
opacity: 1 !important;
}
