Q: not possible to install pro video formats

I can not install the "pro video formats" (apple intermediate codec etc.). The installer says that it cannot find suitable versions of Final Cut 7, Compressor 3.5 or Motion 4. I've got compressor 3.5.3.

?!?

Did you install Compressor 3.5 from the Final Cut Studio installation disks?

I'm not sure, but I think I installed Compressor 3.5 from the Logic Studio (Logic pro 9) installation disc.

I tried to reinstall compressor from the Logic Studio disc today, but it is not possible. Maybe Compressor is not compatible with Yosemite?

I tried to reinstall compressor from the Logic Studio disc today, but it is not possible. Compressor 3.5 is only supported with Mac OS 10.7, but I have got OS 10.10.

I found out together with a member of the Apple support that the text in the Pro Video Formats installer is wrong. It says (translated):

This update of Pro Video Formats is for the following applications:

    - Final cut Pro 7.0 or newer

    - Compressor 3.5 or newer

    - Motion 4.0 or newer.

This is wrong. Compressor 4.0 is required.

So the only way for me to get the pro video formats 2.0.3 update is to buy compressor 4.0.
