Q: How does Apple Pay procees a Debit Card?  Debit or Credit??

If I add my Debit to Apple Pay will the store process it as a debit?

Or will it show up on the Credit card statement?

    Hi John

If you need to choose between Credit or Debit on the merchant's terminal, Apple recommends that you choose Credit to get the most consistent Apple Pay experience (regardless of the type of card that you have chosen to use via Apple Pay on your device). The reason for this is that choosing Debit might not always work with some older merchant payment terminals and backend systems.

However, regardless of how the payment method is chosen and processed via the merchant's terminal:

    - If you choose to use a debit card via Apple Pay on your Apple device, the payment will appear on your debit card (checking / current account) statement.

    - If you choose to use a credit card via Apple Pay on your Apple device, the payment will appear on your credit card statement.

It depends on the card you add. Apple Pay supports selected debit and credit cards issued by financial institutions in the US and the UK. It behaves much like an existing chip and pin or contactless payment.
