Q: ios9 wifi not working

Hello,

Since updating to iOS 9 I cannot connect to my work wifi. It keeps telling me the password is incorrect even though it is identical to my PC which is connected. I have an iPhone 5s 16gb. wifi at home works fine.

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Having installed either IOS 9.01 or 9.02 and since then you have had problems with "Connectivity" & or "Performance" (LAG) here are a few things to try:

    Connectivity

    1.     Hard reset of device - Unlock device and then press and hold both the BACK BUTTON & the ON/OFF SWITCH at the same time the device with                   power off, KEEP holding these buttons until the "Apple" logo appears, the device will now reset and start up. NO DATA should be lost.

    2.     Remove your WiFi connection, go to "Settings" then "Wi-Fi" press the â±· icon and select "Forget  This Network" when prompted select "Forget" Restart         the device as per option 1

    3.     Set your device to have a static IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router & DNS. Leave Search Domains EMPTY, re-start device as per option 1

    Performance (LAG)

    1.     Re-starting the device as per option 1 above. This may have corrected the problem, test to verify

    2.     Have you backed up your device via iTunes recently? If not, OOOPS! If yes, then you can perform a restore to an early version of the iOS

    3.     Backup the device but ensure you change the path within iTunes as to where you back up.

      1. Within iTunes select your device then under preferences, advanced option change the location where it backups up. (Write this location down, you will need it later)
      2. Call the folder iOS9 as a reference point. Backup the device.
      3. Within Windows Explorer, select your device and then open the internal storage via explorer, you will see folders open each in turn and copy ALL your pictures to your PC, e.g. C:\IOSPictures\ this will allow you to put them back on to the device once you have restored it to an older version. (Only the missing ones)
      4. If you backed up your device prior to installing iOS9> then you can skip this and just restore it back using the latest backup you have. (remember, if you have taken pictures or made any changes since this backup they will be lost)
      5. Change the backup location back to the original location and restore the device. Once rebooted check the iOSx version and then copy back any picture from your PC

PLEASE Remember to ALWAYS backup your device before updating the iOS, just in-case... Whilst I hope the above helps, I do not take any responsibility for any lost of data, functionality of your device or ANY problems you may have after you have applied any or all of the above suggestion.

The above is supplied free of charge and as such are used at your on risk.

I just got my iPhone 6 today and is updated to iOS 9.0.2, wifi is on but no connections are showing up at all, my old 4s which is also on 9.0.2 does have connections available and can connect to them. I have tried a lot of the things said on here, reset network settings, reset phone, turning off wifi assist and wifi network services etc but still doesn't work. Is this just a bug in iOS 9.0.2 that affects some of us unlucky people  that apple could fix in 9.0.3 say or is it a problem specifically with my phone.

Its Apple, why am I doing this again? If I wanted a Microsoft product, I would have bought one.

You're here to support Apple or to lick their boots?

And you think this is a rational way to connect to wifi every time I want? I payed 600 dollars for a device and I have to find crazy workarounds to have wifi on my equipment? Come on man... don't toy with this!

I'm also experiencing this on a 3rd generation iPad. Disable WiFi assist won't help since I have no 3G on this, only Wifi.

I tried everything! I lost my WHOLE Saturday last weekend to try to make it work, from 9 Am until 2 AM! This is crazy and a lack of respect for clients to launch a system with this kind of flaw! It's inadmissible!

I have tried the 9.2 Beta release and I can tell you it doesn't work either. Also problem looks kind of random, some users complaint of not being able to connect to enterprise networks but they are able to connect at home, my problem is completely the opposite. I can connect to enterprise networks only, any other network.. closed, open, whatever won't work. Wifi hotspot from an Android also works. So what can I do to use my cheap 600 Dollars equipment (ironic)??? use data from my Android to feed wifi to my iPad and send the data bill to Apple???

    Come on Apple!
