Q: iTunes U file issue

Hi,

Unbeknownst to me my iTunes U app needed to be deleted and reinstalled. While it was like that, I tried subscribing to an iTunes U course, which it denied. So I downloaded a video lecture from the iTunes store, but I could only access it from the store to play it. (See image below, Lecture 25.)

After deleting and reinstalling my iTunes U app, the course I was trying to subscribe to appeared in My Courses, but the video lecture was not shown as downloaded there, only still on the iTunes store. I downloaded that lecture from My Courses and then deleted it, but the lecture still shows as being downloaded from the iTunes store. (See image below, Lecture 25.)

So my question is: How do I delete the lecture from the iTunes store?

If you locate that lecture within My Courses > Course you should be able to swipe from right to left to delete it.

Hi, and thank you for your suggestion.

Under My Courses, under Materials, it shows the Lecture 25 as not being downloaded. I even downloaded it and deleted it using the right to left swipe, but Lecture 25 still shows as being downloaded in the iTunes store screen, as seen above. Now however, the course has been pulled from iTunes U, so it no longer appears in the iTunes store, so I cannot reproduce that screen shot above. But I bet that file is still on my iPhone hidden someplace.

However, I saw that file I'm trying to delete in the iTunes desktop. Selecting the file and pressing delete didn't work. Suggestions?

Is it showing in the iTunes U section of your iTunes library? (Not the store)

If you cannot delete an item in your library that suggests something is a bit off.

As for the store remembering content that you've downloaded at some point that's possibly par for the course. Signing out of the iTunes Store and back in sometimes resolves discrepancies in iTunes. On a device you may need to back it up, restore as a new device, then restore the backup made earlier.
