I followed the advice from your links, went away out in country away from Bluetooth and wifi, My iphone still thinks they are already paired, but won't let me access them to adjust settings, Starkey no help at all.  So I gave up and paired them to my ipad which works just fine so far.  Not very convenient, except at work, where I keep my ipad on my desk.   My car Bluetooth and iphone also argued over the hearing aids, before I paired them to my ipad.  I have business security on my iphone, so have to go through additional security resets, every time I had a pairing problem on my iphone, so I am not willing to keep doing this.   This is my first time using hearing aids, and I certainly wouldn't want to go through all this hassle again.  This is my second set of Starkey aids, after replacing the first which only occasionally connected.  The second set worked much better at connecting for about a year, and then back to the same old problems.  Since this is my first time wearing aids, I can't really judge that their performance is worth the hassle.  I agree with dogsitter that competing Bluetooth signals seems to be the source of the problem.  I would truly like to get an alternative where I don't have to constantly check that they are connected.

Valerie, when you said: "I followed the advice from your links, went away out in country away from Bluetooth and wifi, My iphone still thinks they are already paired, but won't let me access them to adjust settings," did you go to BLUETOOTH SETTINGS and choose "FORGET THIS DEVICE?"  That is step one.  That should clear out the ghosts of previous failed attempts.

yes, I took your advice went out to the park outside of town, took a car without Bluetooth even, left my ipad behind.   I can't even get to the "forget these devices", From  Accessibility Hearing Aids devices on my iphone, it just continues to search, can't see whether they are paired or not, and can't choose the forget these devices.  Then I repeated the same procedure with my ipad, which I hadn't paired with before, and they paired, though it takes longer than Starkey quotes.  I've already tried completely wiping the phone, and reloading from the cloud.  Its a business phone, so can't wipe it clean and start from scratch, and also has extra security that has to be reloaded each time.

I should have noticed that you said it was a business phone with added security.  The fact that you can't even get to the accessibility settings tells me that SECURITY is the problem.  COMMUNICATIONS is the FIRST level of security, so you are probably being blocked by that.  You might try your I.T. professionals, and show them your problem.  They may make an exception and allow the BlueTooth configuration.

Note though that if they have a large FLEET of phones that they manage, you may have this problem every time they do a fleet configuration or upgrade.

Thanks, for the help, thinking an new personal iphone is cheaper than new hearing aids, I retire in a few months, and will get a new phone, hoping the problem will be solved.  I was glad to find this community who have similar issues.

That'll probably be your best solution.  Mine have worked perfectly since iOS 8.3 came out.  Note that I don't use Starkey's app.  I just use the "triple click" to get to the generic iOS controls.  I guess I'm a "plain vanilla" kind of guy that likes to keep things as simple as possible.

The very best to you, Valerie!

In one of your earlier posts you mention using "the Auditorium" setting. What is that? I don't have that available on my installation.

Your audiologist can program preset environments. Mine are now Normal, Restaurant, Music & Crowd. You can also program your own and name it anything, in the Trulink iPhone software, but degree of adjustment is kind of limited, I think.

How's everyone liking iOS9? The major change I noticed is that now when the iPhone rings, the ring also goes straight to the Halos. This happens even if the phone is in the Silent mode and if you're in another room (within the Bluetooth range). NOW we're talking! This originally has been my biggest disappointment when I've discovered that the ring wasn't being transmitted to the Halos, which forced me to constantly hold the phone in the hand when on the move so I could feel the vibration when it rang. With the ring now going directly into my Halos, I can kiss the ring on the phone and the vibration good-bye.

Another tidbit is that the new Battery status widget in the Notifications Center also shows battery levels of the Halos when they're connected. However, in my case their charge level is always at 100% which is not true. TruLink still shows accurate charge levels though.

I agree.  Love the ring!  My batteries also read 100%, regardless of actual charge.

I think that there is LESS ARTIFACTS in streamed audio, which pleases me.  My RIGHT Halo occasionally has momentary dropouts with streamed audio, but the left one doesn't drop out.  I'm pretty sure that the dropouts are also FEWER.  I like listening to podcasts whilst driving or working.

I like the new SEARCH and the swipe-through multitasker.

I'd like to hear MAIL and TEXT dings sent to the Halos.  Well, it gives me something to look forward to in future releases.

    Hello,

So you want text message and email alerts sent to your Halos? Do you want them read to you as well? It’s possible now instead of waiting for the next release.

You can enable a feature called Voice Over, or VO for short. To turn it on, go to settings>general> accessability then look for Voice Over and enable it. Or simply ask Siri to turn Voice Over on or off.

VO is used by visually impaired folks and tech geeks. It will read aloud what’s on the screen as you touch it. Note that it changes the interaction. For example, you do a double tap instead of a single tap. Swipe with three fingers left or right to move from page to page, etc. It’s easy to learn. And don’t worry. IF you turn it on then off, your phone settings are not altered so you can go back and forth.

With VO, you can browse the web, read email or facebook while at church, stuck in a meeting or pretend to be listening to your significant other. No one will know since you can navigate your phone while it’s out of sight as you listen on your Halos.

    Have fun.

Mail and text dings would be good.  But I don't hear any dings!! My iPhone 6 now completely up-to-date with the latest version sends phone call rings directly to my aids BUT no matter how I try I cannot get it to notify me when I specifically request notification of calendar appointments, messages or email.  Yes it prints notifications on the lock screen but it will NOT send any kind of audible message; not to my aids (Starkey) and not generally.  What am I doing wrong to be punished this way? I set audible notifications, I listen to my choices in "Notifications: Calendar, Mail, Messages, Reminder" but they don't happen. "Why?Why?Why?" she moaned.

I'm sure that Apple reads these posts.  Things that we've asked for have been addressed in periodic upgrades.  So I'll ECHO your request!

    APPLE:  PLEASE:

I set audible notifications, I listen to my choices in "Notifications: Calendar, Mail, Messages, Reminder"

We'd LIKE to hear these notifications in our HEARING AIDS.

    That's an excellent request.

But my problem is that even though I set all the notification sounds they never happen when I set them!

For example, I asked for an audible notification for one hour before my dental appointment for which I have to take an antibiotic one hour before.

The ringtone I chose for this kind of calendar notification never sounds; not in the air, not in my aids.  Just nothing! Not ever! Nada!

And that's true for mail and messages too.  A printed notification appears on the screen but no sound or vibration.

Am I not supposed to be notified audibly? Otherwise why bother setting notifications at all? All those amazing ringtones going to waste?

I MUST be doing something wrong but I can't figure out what it is.

Anyone else have this problem solved?

My "work around" is the Apple Watch. The haptic feedback, a gentle tap on the wrist, is terrific for notifications of selected events and is completely private. An added bonus is that our AIDS can be adjusted using the TruLink app on the watch which is a lot less noticeable than doing it from an iPhome. I am a fully convinced fan of the watch with all its many features. My watch collection suffers though.
