Oct 7, 2015 12:47 PM in response to sail.racerby jason269,Hi, sail.racer.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that your MacBook Pro will not wake from sleep after you have updated. Try these troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the issue.
If your Mac doesn't sleep or wake when expected
Cheers

Oct 11, 2015 3:55 PM in response to jason269by sail.racer,Oh well, I had hopes this would solve it but I've reset the SMC twice and the Mac has failed to wake from sleep twice now. This last time I notice that the Bluetooth Setup Assistant is running . . . and running . . . and running. So, I rebooted and unchecked to check for a keyboard or mouse if one is not attached. It's a MacBook Pro, it always has both attached. We'll see if this solves it.

Oct 11, 2015 5:10 PM in response to sail.racerby claporte,FWIW, I have a mac book pro with retina display hooked up to a thunderbolt external monitor and I run both monitors. With El Capitan, after the machine goes to sleep, only the Thunderbolt display wakes up. I have tried playing with the dual display settings, e.g. set the monitors to mirror mode, but no joy. I have to restart to get the macbook pro's display to work again.
