Q: Why is Notes CPU usage high?

Since I upgraded to El Capitan on my MacBook Air, and upgraded my Notes, whenever I start up Notes, it's always between 60–90% on CPU usage, and never goes below 60%. As a result, I pretty much always see the "beachball of death" when I try to use Notes—it makes it quite difficult to use. When I use Notes on my IPhone and IPad Mini, I don't have this problem—I also upgraded Notes on both these devices after upgrading them to iOS 9.

My Laptop:

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014)

Processor: 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

251 GB of Flash Storage

Version: El Capitan (10.11)

When you see that activity, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
When you post the log extract, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

It looks like the Notes database is corrupt. Do you synchronize all your notes with one or more network services, such as iCloud?

Back up all data. Quit Notes.
In the iCloud pane of System Preferences, uncheck the Notes box and confirm. Your iCloud notes will be deleted from the computer, but will remain on the servers and on your other devices (if any) that sync with iCloud.
Recheck the box. In a few seconds, the notes should resynchronize with the server. Test.

Hi

I have the exact same issue. Whenever I enable iCloud the CPU usage exceeds 115% and the fans on the MacBook spin fast. If I uncheck the iCloud notes, the app runs normally. I tried what is suggest above, but it doesn't work.

Any suggestions please?
