I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with iTunes after your El Capitan upgrade. If you are not seeing your content in iTunes after a recent update, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following articles helpful:

Thank you very much for your help. I was able to use the information in the two articles you recommended to restore my iTunes library from my Time Machine. Very helpful and much appreciated!
