Q: Stop Photos from opening

Could someone at Apple please post how to stop Photos from opening every time I attach my iPhone. I never told it to do that, the iPhoto way doesn't work and nothing in your literature explains how.

Have you tried Photos -> Preferences -> uncheck "Copy items to the Photos Library" ?

    I think the ultimate way to stop photos form opening when you connect a device is to open Image Capture, select the device, and in the drop down uncheck photos.

     

    My problem was I did not even want to setup photos because I am perfectly happy with Aperture for now.  Just a waste of time to setup the program just to tell it not to open when you connect a device.

    My thoughts exactly. This is a perfect example of Apple's 'we know what's best for everyone' mindset.
