Hi i have the same issue with 15 inc macbookpro retina

since updated to El Capitan with 85W apple adapter but magsafe 1 -> magsafe 2 adapter

    - either the adapter does not charge at all my macbook (no light)

    - or it charges but magsafe connector goes wery warm (too much)

    - or it charges with 800% CPU dedicated to kernel task and unusable.

    After investigation… guess what ?

every thing is fine with the original macbook's magsafe2 adapter (the one that came with the macbook)

and everything goes wrong with other DC adapters

even if they are genuine 85W Apple branded adapters but older and using the magsafe 1-> magsafe2 adapter.

so i guess this is a El Capitan Feature -> drop the magsafe 1-> 2 adapter support.
