Oct 11, 2015 9:23 AM in response to jodyfromanchor pointby John Blanchard1,Can you post the crash log here? Or at least what is crashing?

Oct 11, 2015 10:08 AM in response to Jason Lby jodyfromanchor point,The only thing left to do is remove the scanner and reinstall it from the list. I don't know if I'll get that done today or not. But I'll do it as soon as possible.

Oct 11, 2015 10:54 AM in response to jodyfromanchor pointby John Blanchard1,Thank you, Jody, that's plenty.
Epson's app is crashing, so they'll need to provide a fix. You may be able to workaround it though. Have you tried scanning from Preview or ImageCapture, if the device shows up in those apps? If the scanner doesn't appear in those apps, you should contact Epson to see if they have any reports of this.
I hope this helps.

Try using Image Capture, it is in your Applications Folder.

FWIW I've been using Epson Printers and Scanners with my Mac's for a very long time, and I have always used Image Capture instead of Epson Scan.

Nov 14, 2015 3:42 PM in response to jodyfromanchor pointby jodyfromanchor point,After life getting in the way, by the time I came back to this problem Epson had released a new driver for the V600 scanner. I installed the new driver for El Capitan and everything is working as it should. Sorry for the delay in responding to this and thank you everyone for your time and suggestions.

Dec 8, 2015 5:01 AM in response to jodyfromanchor pointby gnomen,What version was the new driver for the V600? I have the same problem as reported here, have tried installing drivers from Epson's EU, UK and US sites, all without success (I am based in the UK but there sites are a bit confusing and the version numbers are also confusing).
Thanks!

Dec 8, 2015 11:09 AM in response to gnomenby jodyfromanchor point,I Googled El Capitan driver for Epson V600. It took me to the Epson page and I chose the V600 scanner. Took me to this page: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportCapitanDetails.jsp?oid=139863# stage1
Then downloaded the file. It appears as epson16676.dmg when I downloaded it again. I hope this helps you. It's frustrating when things that used to work don't after an upgrade.

Dec 9, 2015 4:54 AM in response to gnomenby gnomen,Further update: I can get Epson Scan to run but apparently I need an update to Event Manager for the buttons on the scanner to be recognised when pressed. Epson support say an El Capitan compatible version is coming, but they do not know exactly when.

Dec 9, 2015 12:11 PM in response to gnomenby jodyfromanchor point,In the meantime, go into your applications folder, click on Epson Software, then click on Epson scan. That will open it up and from there you can scan like normal.

Mar 12, 2016 2:28 PM in response to jodyfromanchor pointby Rosa Avolio,Hi Jody and all the others that have replied here. I have the exact same issue since the same time, I upgraded to el Capitan and my Epson 4490 quit working, I thought it was the scanner so I purchased a new one a V600. Unfortunately I still have the same problem, V600 won't scan. I've tried the Epson driver/software no luck, I try Image capture no luck I even downloaded a demo of VueScan no luck. I've spent a couple of hours on the phone with Epson and and they can't get it to work!
I did install the latest Epson drive for el Capitan, that did not fix it.
Next I guess I'll call Apple but I thought I'd try here since I'm not the only one with the problem.
Rosa
