How can I best upgrade to 10.6 to enable compatibility with Office 11? Is iPhoto compatible with 10.6? If not, how should I safeguard pics. Many thanks! more

Oct 11, 2015 2:10 PM in response to Baby Boomer (USofA)by PR17,Thanks Baby Boomer,
I'm going to buy the Snow Leopard pack that you linked. I can see that this will include Photo Booth - do you know how I get my photos from iPhoto onto this new package? I routinely run Time Machine, so everything should be backed up - do you know whether my new operating system/software will be able to read the iPhoto files? Perhaps I need to export the pics onto an external drive?
Sorry about the basic questions - my tech knowledge is pretty limited!
Thanks for your help!

Oct 11, 2015 3:08 PM in response to PR17by den.thed,OS X upgrades only upgrade the operating system and if all goes well, your data, photos and music will be untouched and working in the new OS X.
Of course it is always a good idea to have a good backup. But not just for upgrades and updates, but for hardware issues as well.

Photo Booth is an app that takes pictures by using the comp iSight cam & on later OS'es videos/movies. You cannot add iPhoto photos.
