Oct 12, 2015 7:32 AM in response to Oakbayguyby brenden dv,★HelpfulHi Oakbayguy,
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! If you are planning to use your iPad without a SIM card but keep receiving No SIM messages, you may want to try turning on Airplane Mode, then individually turning WiFi and Bluetooth back on as outlined in the following article:
Use Airplane Mode on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Cheers

Oct 12, 2015 7:35 AM in response to brenden dvby Oakbayguy,Thanks for the response but this approach does not stop the "no sim" reminder at startup or during scanning some news sites.

Oct 12, 2015 7:39 AM in response to Oakbayguyby jazcan,At startup the message will appear but you can remove it from showing in the top left corner by turning cellular data off. On my iPad 2, I found an inactive sim, placed it in my iPad & then was able to turn off cellular data. If you have a later model iPad with Siri, you can simply tell her to turn off cellular data.

Oct 16, 2015 8:37 PM in response to Fnaticby Oakbayguy,Well I have tried all of the suggestions. Asked Siri to turn off cellular data and she said she did even though I had it turned off in Settings. I have airplane mode set as well. No luck. Still get the reminder. I have a gen 3 iPad with latest iOS version. Not a show stopper...just an occasional annoyance.

Oct 16, 2015 8:58 PM in response to Oakbayguyby Fnatic,Actually, my ipad (3rd generation) with sim, was showing in top left corner "no sim". After i asked siri to turn it off, it just went and become "iPad". When it happened, the reminder never showed up again. Make sure you have "ipad" in the top left corner, if not, re-ask siri, maybe it should go well.
