Oct 10, 2015 6:32 AM in response to richiefrombondi beachby TRULADY87,sorry but this doesn't work. First of all its every app including those inherent to iOS which you can't delete. Also as soon as you sync a Bluetooth again it will come right back.

If you are experiencing this display bug, here is how you can troubleshoot:
- We were able to fix this bug by simply enabling Siri. If Siri is disabled, go to Settings > General > Siri and turn Siri on.
- Tap Settings then Display & Brightness then change Display Zoom View from “Standard” to “Zoomed” or “Zoomed” to “Standard”; depending on your original setting.
- If the tips above does not solve this problem, try this: Tap Settings; Display & Brightness then tap Display Zoom View and choose Zoomed and tap “Set”. A message will say “Changing Display Doom will restart iPhone” and tap “Use Zoomed”. After your iPhone restart, now tap Standard > Set and “Use Standard.
- Tap Settings > Display & Brightness then disable “Auto-Brighness”.
- Restart your device by pressing and holding the on/off button.
- Force your device to restart by pressing on/off and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo.
- Remove and reinstall the app that you are having problems with. To do this, tap and hold the app, then tap the sign when it jiggles. Then go to the App Store and re-download the same app.

Oct 10, 2015 10:29 AM in response to ghost_mby buzzlightyr,Hi folks,
Turning Siri on, changing the zoom settings, and doing a soft reset will indeed clear up the problem, but only temporarily. I and many others have had the problem return within hours to days of these actions, usually after a voice or Bluetooth headset call.

Oct 10, 2015 1:14 PM in response to LobergFischerby AmateurElemental,Sorry, but this will not fix the problem.
If you have a phone that supports Zoom, maybe this will work, but the problem exists for at least the iPhone 5 and upward. iPhone 5's don't have this feature and still suffer from the problem.
For those of you with phones that have the Zoom feature, I hope this work, but based on other posts, it's just like any of the "fixes" we users have found, "spotty, inconsistent, and annoying."

Oct 10, 2015 3:07 PM in response to Jagspecialby nrk62,Same for me. And extremely frustrating that there's no response from Apple. Seriously, AAPL?

Oct 11, 2015 1:15 AM in response to nrk62by SiriPL,When a **** are you, Apple, going to fix this? Since iOS7 on iPhone 4, iOS9 is most dissatisfying update. Each app I have to open twice before I use it. Furthermore calendar widget does not work properly (described in another thread), and a lot of other minor bugs. Miss iOS 8.3.

Oct 11, 2015 2:20 PM in response to Jagspecialby timbooo, still no response or update. Simply saying activate this delete that....... you are missing the point the issue lies with the operating system either an update will fix it or u will stuck with it.
Don't waste time faffing about with ur devices. Apple have already proven to me that things are not good suggesting a factory reset. What will that solve ios 9.0.2 will still be there!

Oct 11, 2015 5:33 PM in response to timboooby theologis,Guys there is no solution to that bug.
The only way to get rid of it, at this time is to install ios 9.1 public beta

Oct 11, 2015 6:55 PM in response to Jagspecialby buzzlightyr,Hi folks,
Contrary to my last post, in fact I determined that Siri was set to "off" on my phone, which means it was in this state while I was trying most of the troubleshooting tips here. I don't know how or when that happened. In any case, I set it to "on" and also did a soft reset. I'll see how far I get before the problem returns. If it doesn't come back, the fix could be related to Siri being off, as some have suggested.

Oct 11, 2015 11:18 PM in response to buzzlightyrby timbooo,IF by chance u have a solution and i say that in the most lose terms then Siri will not doubt eat more of my battery life as the update has done contrary to what it says that it will boost battery time too. Im having to charge my phone twice a day since update.
I wonder how many phones apple test updates on prior to releasing new ios. Also which models.

Oct 12, 2015 5:06 AM in response to theologisby Hausen1976,Hi guys,
like "theologis" already mentioned: I have installed iOS 9.1 public beta 4 and the "Black screen bug" finally seems to be resolved in this version...

Oct 12, 2015 10:20 AM in response to Jagspecialby buzzlightyr,Me again folks,
Since manually turning on Siri under Settings, I have not had the problem recur. This includes a time period after making a voicecall using a Bluetooth headset and using speech recognition (so from a locked screen condition), which in the past seemed to trigger this problem. In my case, I don't know how or why Siri was turned off - I thought it was activated (like it was under the previous iOS.) So even if you think Siri is on, you might check this and manually turn it to "on" if it's showing as off.
Nice to know that this issue may be fixed in 9.1. I have to say though, I'm not a fan of this iOS, especially all the UI tweaks which aren't helpful and just get in the way.

Oct 12, 2015 10:40 AM in response to buzzlightyrby theologis,HI guys again, I would like to say that I'm from greece and there is not Siri available in ou language,so I have to use voice commands when I 'm driving..
AAlthough I tried many times to turn on and off Siri manually, just to know if this fixes the problem .. always the black screen was back ..
so I asked a friend of mine, he told me that I could try the beta version , and the problem here is fixed !!
